The Yantarnaya gambling zone is not in vain positioned as a very promising one. The Sobranie casino already operates there, having become one of the largest in Europe. It lies on the coast of the Baltic Sea with an area of 5.5 hectares.

The total area of one complex is 18 thousand square meters. Apart from the casino, there is a conference center, a promenade zone, and a hotel.

Thus, there are already two gambling facilities in the Yantarnaya gambling zone: the Sobranie casino and the Magic Crystal slot machines hall.

Also, there are plans to realize the Novyj Gorod (New City) project there, which implies the construction of not only gambling facilities but also hotels, aqua parks, spa salons and health resorts. It will be a real resort town occupying the territory of 600 hectares.

By 2020, authorities of the Kaliningrad Region expect to increase the tourist flow to the Yantarnaya gambling zone to 5 million people per year. And already in 2018, around 1.5 tourists are expected due to the FIFA World Cup.

Over 14 billion rubles were allocated for the development of the Yantarnaya zone. The funds were invested in the infrastructure. The construction works will take place till 2029. In the end, the gambling zone can become a heart of gambling business for the whole Europe.

The territory of the Yantarnaya gambling zone was reduced fivefold (from 4.79 million to 995.1 thousand square meters). The areas near the small town Povarovka were excluded from its structure. It was done due to the poor infrastructure and lack of investors’ support. The new location is a 10-minute drive from the airport and 30-minute drive from Kaliningrad.
