Public discussion of a bill against fixed matches is on
Russian Ministry of Finance members, representatives of three bookmaker SROs and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation Subcommittee on Gambling prepared and submitted for public review a working version of a bill designed to fight fixed matches in professional sports.
The document includes definitions of unusual and suspicious bets, as well as a list of actions to be taken by a bookmaker if he receives information about such betting. The bill will be on public discussion and undergo anti-corruption examination till January 17, 2018.
The need for these amendments to the Russian Federation legislation is caused by country's participation in the Council of Europe Convention on the Manipulation of Sports Competitions.
