UK experts explored children's gambling addiction
The UK Gambling Commission (UKGC) published the results of the study on children's gambling addiction. It states that minors are getting used to gambling by video games, mobile applications and social networks.
12% of respondents (aged 11-16 years) admitted that they have spent their money for a week on gambling. For comparison: 16% drunk alcohol, 5% of the focus group smoked, and 3% took drugs.
11% of children said that they visited online gambling services on PCs or mobile devices literally last week. The average rate of their loss is £10 (over $13).
80% of respondents told that they saw television advertising of gambling services, 70%, thematic posts in social networks, 66% came across such advertising when visiting other Internet resources.
