Slots based on Hollywood titles draw attention at G2E
Shortly before 10am on the opening day, representatives of Reed Exhibition and the American Gaming Association officially inaugurated the event and welcomed visitors. It was plain to those present that this year the top manufacturers have spared little in kitting out their booths, presenting huge LED screens and , thousands of machine exhibits, all amid a sense of business a luxury not seen at the Las Vegas show in years.
At its huge stand, IGT’s product protfolio seems to have s multiplied this year. No doubt the pick of the crop is its latest Megajackpots “Avatar” game series, owned by Twentieth Century Fox. Additionally, two new products: “James Cameron’s Avatar” and “James Cameron’s Avatar - Treasures of Pandora” have made their debuts, to considerable public interest, together with other games such as Jurassic Park, Back of the Future, Sex and the city, Footloose and the True Blood series.
And vying for the prize of “franchise of the year”, Bally has launched its “Titanic” along with “The Magic of David Copperfield” and, “ZZ Top Live from Texas”; also on show is its Michael Jackson inspired game and, new to its portfolio, “Grease Pink Ladies”.
Aristocrat also released a slew of novelties, using G2E as a launchpad for 200 new games. Right from innovative game mechanics and bonus rounds, built into traditional games, through to its novel ESERIES, the evident focus of Aristocrat’s exhibit is on fresh new material. But since visitors’ eyes are generally peeled on “blockbusters”, the titles causing the greatest stir were famous franchises such as the “Batman Classic Series” (with the presence of Adam West himself at the event), and also a new development based on the series “The Walking Dead”.
Konami is also presenting its new titles, such as Solstice Celebration, Passport To Riches, Glamorous Gold, Rock Around The Clock: Triple Clock Hoppin’, Rock Around The Clock: Triple Clock Rockin’ and Legion Warrior, together with the new SYNKROS management system, released at G2E 2012.
Novomatic has also adopted a leading role at the event, and with such a range of quality products it is hard to pick out highlights, but special attention goes to the prestigious AGI DOminator cabinet, which is the central theme of its exhibition space. This cabinet will be introduced in the US with a wide range of individual games and multi-game combinations, based on server-based platforms, Novo Line Interactive, and with a selection of individual games from Octavian.
Besides, Ainsworth bet for its first licensed title “The Magnificent Seven”, through which bettors can immerse in the Far West with the favourite characters of the legendary movie.
For its part, GTECH, through its casino brand product Spielo, presented,, at stand 1265, a wide and rich range of products among which could be found the interconnected progressive Volcano Island for the Latin American market, and regional game licenses: Bejeweled, Zuma and Plants vs. Zombies. Casino Technology is displaying its latest version of the multi-game series “Penthouse Slots”, presented in luxury brand cabinet and a multi-game piano station, together with a variety of more than 100 new titles.
As promised, Crane Payment Solutions has on display its complete range of products and technologies (CashCode, Money Controls and NRI); Inspired, with a comprehensive offer of virtual sports and a new management system, BetBOX (BMS); Quixant with the new all-in-one game platform QXi-300; Alfastreet with its SL M3 terminal and renewed R8 M3, Big Wheel M3 and Table Top M3; and Interblock with a smaller version of last year success, Lounge Gaming Interblock (IBHGL) hologram.
A significant number of further visitors are expected today, whose likes and preferences are set to shape the course of the sector in the year to come. The world’s Gambling Capital is once more shining bright, and G2E continuing to be a focal point for games manufacturers.
