(US, exclusive Yogonet.com).- As ever, the opening of G2E marked the yearly opening was the highlight on the international gaming industry calendar, and thousands of products and developments were duly unveiled in what was an impressive first day for the show. Although hard to tell at this stage where most of the interest lies, a trend seems to be emerging: big franchises, star names and Hollywood mega productions, reflected in state-of-the-art slot screens, are catching the eye.

Shortly before 10am on the opening day, representatives of Reed Exhibition and the American Gaming Association officially inaugurated the event and welcomed visitors. It was plain to those present that this year the top manufacturers have spared little in kitting out their booths, presenting huge LED screens and , thousands of machine exhibits, all amid a sense of business a luxury not seen at the Las Vegas show in years.

At its huge stand, IGT’s product protfolio seems to have s multiplied this year. No doubt the pick of the crop is  its latest Megajackpots “Avatar” game series, owned by Twentieth Century Fox. Novomatic has also adopted a leading role at the event, and with such a range of quality products it is hard to pick out highlights, but special attention goes to the prestigious AGI DOminator cabinet, which is the central theme of its exhibition space. This cabinet will be introduced in the US with a wide range of individual games and multi-game combinations, based on server-based platforms, Novo Line Interactive, and with a selection of individual games from Octavian.
