RGW: Russian online business development potential

On the 5^th of June, 2014, Athanasios-Tanos Marinos will make a presentation at ECC Sokolniki as part of Russian Gaming Week Conference, speaking on the topic “Online betting is here: Russian and CIS online business development potential” and sharing his thoughts on the future industry developments, as well as Internet casinos rapid popularity growth. An expert will also participate in the roundtable “Bookmaking СRО pros and cons”, sharing his European issue solving experience.

"The European online gambling market is the most dynamic online gambling market in the world. It is continuing to lead the way in regulation and revenue generation and is home to the world's largest online operators.
While the trend that emerges in Europe  is to license the betting operations at the point of consumption, we had many examples in recent years with many market openings ,legislative changes and online gambling reforms taking place.
Debates at the European level, taxation, advertising, payment processing, website blocking, blacklisting, social gaming and sports integrity among other operational and regulatory issues are the hot issues in Europe.

In Russia , we have seen the last months an attempt of the Russian authorities to block unlicensed online operators wits ISP blocking,payments blocking ,etc.
Our view is that the Russian authorities need to regulate the online market, taxate the operators, and actively protect the clients by offering only licensed products.There is a big opportunity for the Russian state , are they going to take it?
