Russian State Duma can change penalties for betting providers

State Duma of the Russian Federation has propounded amendments to the document on the amount of penalties for betting shops. According to State Duma members, a fine at a rate of 30 million RUB in case of failure to pay allocations for sports development is too heavy.

The State Duma informs that the severe penalty can damage the growth of legal gambling business.

The amendments specify that the fine should not exceed 1/25 of total revenue from all goods and services per year.

Casino Sochi holds poker tournament for journalists

As part of a press tour to the Krasnaya Polyana gambling zone, one held the poker tournament among Russian mass media representatives. The winner is Andrey Nimchenko, Editor-in-Chief at Kommersant-Kuban newspaper.

The winner obtained the Cup, money prize, and exclusive right to organize a party for Casino Sochi visitors.

Besides, within the event, journalists from ITAR-TASS, the All-Russian State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company, RIA Novosti, Sports.ru, Argumenty i Fakty Russian Newspaper, and other publications attended Boomerang Casino and met with top managers of Domain LLC.

Kazakhstan to enter amendments to gambling legislation

The authorities of Kazakhstan have introduced the amendments to the gambling bill. Such changes will allow to control betting operations and combat problem gambling.

The Government is not going to limit betting operations: it just offers to transfer companies to special zones.

Besides, the authorities have suggested to bind sports bets to gambler’s taxpayer ID number in order to control betting providers’ earnings, improve transparency, and monitor the number of users. Moreover, Kazakhstan is designing mechanisms to provide assistance for gambling addicts.

Primorye Territory to get 1.5 billion RUB for tourism development

The Primorye Territory has become one of the 22 Russian regions to receive in total 21 billion RUB by 2021 for the development of culture and travel industry.

The Primorye Territory will obtain 1.515 billion RUB in order to grow the infrastructure of Primorye cluster.

The region will be provided with 350 million RUB this year, 400 million RUB the next year, and approximately 765.2 million RUB in 2021.

Paddy Power Betfair acquires shares of Georgian gambling service

The largest betting company, Paddy Power Betfair (PPB), has bought 51% of Adjarabet’s shares.

Paddy Power Betfair paid $131.87 million for a significant part of shares. PPB’s CEO says that the agreement will help their business to occupy the first position on the Georgian market.

Under the terms of agreement between companies, PPB will be able to purchase the rest 49% of shares in three years if Adjarabet’s pretax profit increases sevenfold.
