The rise of the tourist flow from China to Primorye is expected next year.

At the exhibition China International Travel Market in Shanghai, cruise operator Costa Group Asia announced its intentions to send customers to the region.

Costa Victoria Deck 14 with 2000 passengers on board for the first time entered the port in Vladivostok in May last year. Tourists were pleased with the voyage, and cruise company decided to increase the number of such visits. Its liners will visit Primorye for six times in 2017.

The press service of local administration also reports about successful negotiations with cruise operators Royal Caribbean International and Sky Sea CruiseLine. There is no information whether they will send ships to Vladivostok.

“We held several meetings, and world cruise operators showed interest in ship entries to Vladivostok,” says the Tourism Department Director in the Primorye Territory, Konstantin Shestakov.

He also noted that representatives of Chinese tourism industry showed great interest in the region’s booth at the exhibition in Shanghai, which allows predicting the further growth of tourist flow.

It should be mentioned that round 184 thousand of Chinese guests visited Primorye within 10 months this year, and 121 thousand – within the last year. Mainly residents of Chinese border areas come to visit.

One of the main reasons of the tourist flow growth is the opening of the new casino. Gambling is prohibited on the territory of China, except for Macao, and the most attractive possibility to gamble for residents of the country’s northern provinces is the Primorye gambling zone.
