Casinos will no longer pay taxes on winnings over 15,000 rubles

The State Duma of the Russian Federation passed a law allowing the casinos not to pay tax on the income of individuals with winnings over 15,000 rubles. Gambling zone Primorye will experience some changes as well.

Primorsky Krai Development Corporation explained that the amendments would strike down a law on taxation of the gambling business in terms of paying taxes on winnings over 15,000 rubles, now the winner will pay tax.

The State Duma passed the bill in the third reading and sent it to the Federation Council for approval. If it gets approval, Russian casino operators will no longer have to act as a tax agent.

Director of the Primorye tourism department Konstantin Shestakov said that the priority for the administration today is to create favorable conditions for investors and control over the construction projects commissioning in time.

"We have a systematic approach to project implementation. First, the development of the engineering and transport infrastructure of the resort zone, secondly, control over the implementation of investment obligations, thirdly, attraction of investors for the investment sites with the support of Far East Investment and Export Agency, – said Shestakov. "This is important, as it contributes not only to the development of the gambling zone, but also to the resort development and investment attractiveness of the region."
