Interview with the Director: Vahe Baloulian

22.04.2015

New CEO of BetConstruct, Vahe Baloulian talks about his customer-oriented vision.

- Can you describe briefly your past work experience in the industry of online gaming?

In 1997 I founded a company in the segment of online retail, which became well-known for its incredible treatment of the customers. So, my friend asked me to help a gaming company, known at that time as Casino-on-Net, and now – 888, update their strategy of work with clients. Thus, I became familiar with this incredible industry. Online gaming was then in its infancy, there were no experts to learn from. Many things that are now taken for granted, at that time were made by very creative and enthusiastic people, with whom I worked. I consider a great gift of fate to have knowledge and experience acquired over the years and happy to share them.

- What attracted you to the position of CEO in BetConstruct?

BetConstruct is a unique company with focus on the customer. Before accepting this position, I worked as an advisor to the Chairman of the Board of Directors, who founded the company. For me it was important that he supported the idea of the multi-faceted game market where all operators would have the same access to the necessary tools and support to achieve the desired level of development and success.

- Tell us about the company's short-term plans for the coming months.

At ICE 2015 we presented our platform Spring - a powerful new tool to increase revenue without additional costs. It is not a simple upgrade, it is a completely new approach that will change everything. Now we are focused on the implementation of Spring tasks, which requires resources, original approach, good management and precision of actions. We employ nearly 1,000 people in different countries, and each of them should do their best. My task is to remove the obstacles on their way.

- What is your long-term strategy?

Everything we do is related to our partners. Along with the cutting-edge products and services, our partners benefit from the flexibility and solving of problems and tasks. Recently, we have introduced our new affiliate program, we open offices in different countries to be closer to them. Our long-term strategy is to focus more on the client, which helped BetConstruct succeed during all these years, over and over again.

- In what segment of gaming do you see the most benefits for development?

Sports betting has always been our strong point, although in the last few years, we have strengthened other areas too. For example, our casino with live dealer received a lot of attention thanks to our advanced studios. This has stimulated demand, which is now observed. The same applies to casinos, poker, financial betting, virtual, skill games, fantasy leagues, coefficients, scout data, statistics, and so on.

We are constantly adapting our products and services to the requirements of partners and create innovations that help them stand out among the competitors. These innovations and opportunities for partners to differ from the others, as for me, are the most important factors for progress.

- What are the key challenges BetConstruct sets at present?

The main task is to meet the demand, avoiding mistakes and stick to our core values. It sounds like a standard, but it does require incredible efforts. Self-confidence is the worst thing that can happen to a successful organization. I believe that experience that we have received from the gradual but steady development over the past 12 years will help us make the right decisions in any situation.

- What industry topics were the most interesting for the visitors of your stand at ICE?

We offer services to both large and small operators, so, people discussed different topics at our stand - from market segmentation and regulation to constant fusion of suppliers and increase of the cost of entering the market. The use of mobile and similar new technologies was also interesting for people. We listened to everyone very carefully and gave comprehensive answers to all questions.
