The Criminal Code of the Russian Federation can be supplemented by new articles about illegal betting organization. NagaCorp Ltd. has started constructing a casino in the Primorye gambling zone, while Crimea authorities have calculated the amount of satisfied tourists – these topics will be reveled in our news review.

 

  • Imprisonment for illegal betting

On December 2, the State Duma will consider the amendments to the Criminal Code, toughening responsibility for betting business without government’s permission. If lawmakers adopt a positive decision, illegal bookmakers will face a fine from 300 000 rubles, compulsory community service, or imprisonment up to two years.

Such a crime carried out by a group or aiming to obtain high income is offered to be punished by a fine from 500 000 thousand rubles or imprisonment up to four years. Similar sanctions are stipulated for multiple providing rooms for gambling organizers.

Maximum imprisonment term will take two years longer and minimum fine will be twice as large, if a crime is carried out using one’s official position.

 

  • Primorye starts constructing one more gambling venue

Primorsky Entertainment Resort City LLC owned by Malaysia-based NagaCorp Ltd. Corporation has started constructing the entertainment complex called Mayak valued at around 70 000 000 dollars.

The project aims to establish a casino with 30 tables and 300 slot machines, hotel including 279 rooms, concert hall, and Aqua Park. The first object is planned to be completed by the end of 2018.

 

  • Majority of Crimean guests want to return here again

The Ministry of Resorts and Tourism of Crimea has examined the mood of tourists, having rest on the peninsula during this year’s holiday season. 3000 people were surveyed from June to October. The results show that almost 80% of them want to visit Crimea once more. More than a half of respondents have visited it for the first time, 24.4% – for the second time, and 23.9% – three or more times.

Respondents mentioned the following positive aspects: beauty of nature, interesting excursions, and affability of locals. Tourists were dissatisfied by high prices, their incompatibility to service quality, transport issues, and few ATMs.
