Russia to face gambling tax hike as the bill approved
The bill on raising tax rates on gambling facilities was approved in Russia. The document was approved in three parliamentary readings and by the Federation Council, and later Russian President Vladimir Putin signed the law. The document will enter into force on January 1, 2018.
The bill includes measures to raise taxes on slot machines, gaming tables, betting centers and processing centers in about 2 times. Having a machine will now cost 3-15 thousand rubles per month; betting center, 10-14 thousand rubles; the gaming table, 50-250 thousand rubles; and the processing center, 2.5-3 million rubles.
Regulation of taxation on cash prize is another point of the document. If the amount does not exceed 4 thousand rubles, the tax will not be charged, if the sum is up to 15 thousand rubles, citizens pay the tax themselves and if more, operators of gambling services do.
