Roskomnadzor accepts 39 000 complaints of gambling websites in first half of 2017

Roskomnadzor (the Federal Service for Supervision of Communications, Information Technology, and Mass Media) keeps sharing statistics data for the first six months of 2017. It transpired that the department accepted 118 000 complaints of distributing content banned by the Russian Federation on web resources. Around 39 000 applications were submitted on online gambling.

Citizens can send complaints to the Service by filling the electronic form on the official web resource.

During past six months, Roskomnadzor portal recorded:

• 40 000 complaints of narcotics propaganda;
• 21 000 – child porn;
• 19 000 – calls for suicide.

If comparing with the same period in 2016, the figures increased from 17% to 285%. The amount of complaints of gambling content grew by 230%.
