William Hill stopped providing services to Russian players

One of the largest gaming companies in the world – William Hill – left Russian market because of strict regulations concerning online gambling.

On the 23rd of September the access to William Hill Casino Club was blocked for Russian players and all the accounts were closed.

The company explains that with regulator changing rules and extending the criteria list of operators’ legal services it has become much more difficult to carry out business in Russia.

It is to be reminded that since the beginning of the year Roskomnadzor has blocked thousands of websites offering online gambling. In August 1700 portals were placed on the agency’s blacklist In the period from 15th to 21st of September 439 websites were blocked. Moreover, on the demand of authorities all popular social networks have deleted gambling companies’ pages.
