IPS introduction and other measures: how Western European countries deal with illegal operators
The Czech Republic, Poland and Slovakia have tightened measures for the gambling regulation. Currently, operators without a license face difficulties in delivering their services on the territory of these countries.
One of the main measures for struggling against illegal gambling is IPS system that uses unknown sources to track and block banned resources. In with way, regulatory bodies can detect an operator acting illegally on the country territory and take appropriate actions. The penalty for illegal business is €500 thousand.
All three countries continue adding banned domains to the black list. Thus, the Poland's Ministry of Finance has detected about one thousand of them. Unregistered operators are the main target of the country authorities.
Experts claim that measures for the IPS introduction won’t be effective since players easily evade blocking and continue betting on banned sites.
