Potential investors of the gambling zone "Siberian Coin" in the Altai region - international company "Casino Austria" - were promised not to be "overloaded" with taxes. Head of the region Alexander Karlin stated it at the recent meeting with company management in Barnaul.

In his words, "gambling zone will take its place in the entertainment industry, but we do not hope that we'll solve all the problems of the budget through gambling. The issue of pumping up the regional budget will be solved using other sectors of the economy that are traditional for our region".

As the press service of the regional administration reports, these days President of "Casino Austria" Dr. Leopold Wallner and its CEO Dr. Karl Stoss (both were present at the meeting with Alexander Karlin) are on a working trip in the Altai region getting acquainted with the prospective gambling zone and taking final decision about cooperation with local authorities in this project.

"Casino-Austria" owns more than 80 major casinos in 12 countries around the world. At the end of last year company announced its intention to participate in the project for the creation of gambling zone in the Altai region.

The government directive on the establishment of the gambling zone "Siberian Coin" was signed on February 9. Gambling zone area is more than two thousand hectares. The territory will be located in proximity to the special economic zone of tourist-recreational type "Turquoise Katun"; this will help to reduce expenses for creation of infrastructure.

According to preliminary calculations, the total cost of the project will be more than 30 billion RUB.
