Investor of Azov City demands for a compensation from the Krasnodar region

Royal Time Group, the investor of Azov City gambling zone, intends to demand compensation for the closure of the zone from the Russian Ministry of Finance. The sum of expected compensation is 5.9 billion rubles.

Besides, company reps stated that they would demand that the Krasnodar region authorities not only compensated losses but also bought out facilities that were built on the territory of the gambling zone.

On December 19, the State Duma approved the act about the compensation of losses to all owners of functional gambling zones, but specified that the act would not address Azov City.

The Kaliningrad region plans to develop the Yantarnaya gambling zone

Head of the Federal Agency for Tourism Oleg Safonov met with the governor of the Kaliningrad region Anton Alikhanov to offer to develop the infrastructure of the Yantarnaya gambling zone in 2019-2025. At the meeting, parties also discussed the results of the tourism year in the Kaliningrad region and prospects of this field for upcoming years.

Anton Alikhanov noted, “We have several tourism projects as part of the Federal Target Program (FTP), which will be closed this year. I would like to discuss our plans on the new version of the FTP. We also plan large infrastructure projects that will be brought into life by the region’s Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment. For example, a bicycle track at Curonian Spit.”

Prize fund of the New Year’s Partypoker tournament is $10 million

Partypoker room has announced the New Year’s online tournament called Christmas Freeze with a prize fund of $10million. As one can guess from the name of the event, there will be freezeout tournaments that do not allow re-entries.

Christmas Freeze is taking place from December 23, 2018 to January 6, 2019. The festival embraces 201 events including Mix-Max, 6-Max, 8-Max, and PLO with different buy-ins, from $3.3 for amateurs to $1,050 for highrollers. The prize fund of three largest tournament events (Christmas Freeze № 2, № 24, and № 46) will equal to $300,000 each.

Tribal casino opens in the US

The Pamunkey Indian Tribe is planning to construct a new casino resort in Virginia, the cost of which is estimated at $700 million. The facility will become the state’s first casino resort located in the center of Norfolk.

The tribe is considering a 20-hectare land lot located in-between the baseball stadium and Amtrak station.

The law prohibits casinos in Virginia, but chances are high that the situation may change in the future.

Krasnaya Polyana gambling zone brought 1.47billion rubles to national budget

The press service of the gambling zone’s operator LLC Domein reported that Krasnaya Polyana has brought 1.47 billion rubles to the national budget since it was opened in August of 2016.

The integrated entertainment resort offers two gambling facilities – Casino Sochi and Bonus slots parlor. On January 4, one more facility called Bumerang will be opened at Rosa Khutor resort.

Over 850,000 people from Russia and 146other countries have visited the gambling zone since it was established. Development director of Krasnaya Polyana Dmitry Anfinogenov informed about the plans to build nightclubs and restaurants on the territory of the zone.
