A “Sensational” ICE 2014 edition starts today
Jo Mayer, Marketing Director of ICE, said: "This will be our second consecutive year at ExCel and we have never rested on our laurels. ICE is the only business-to-business event that combines the online gambling world and the traditional gambling world under one roof, and it is the only event that offers a truly global perspective about the trends of the sector, with a 65% of international exhibitors. These unique characteristics are key motivators to attract thousands of professionals of the sector that come to London every year.”
Counting all the companies sharing booths and the presence of media, all in all there will be 503 firm’s exhibiting their services and products at the show, from 57 different countries, representing strong growth compared with the2013 edition, attended by 481 companies from 55 countries. In terms of public visitors, last year the trade show was attended by more than 22,000 executives, and this year’s number is expected to exceed that. 350 global gaming regulators, from 100 countries, are already pre-registered for the event.
This year’s exhibition space is around 55,000 sqm, a 12% increase over last year, making ICE 2014 the largest gambling event worldwide. In 2013 the show ran its first edition at the ExCel venue, registering a 4.3% rise in visitor numbers compared with 2012. The public turnout for this year’s event is thus projected to be higher still, for an event which has grown, in terms of visitor numbers, 8.6% compared with 2011 and a 17.8% compared with 2010.
Kate Chambers, ICE Totally Gaming Portfolio Director, believes the venue is key to the success of the event, which starts today: “Last year, ExCel represented an important new chapter in this event, and today provides visitors and exhibitors alike with a modern business environment. And through the ExCeL venue we have the chance to grow and expand, and satisfy the existing demand of the international community of gaming innovations.”
Chambers also highlights the importance of “surprises” on offer for visitors at the show. “One of the important aspects of a show are the “surprises” it puts on. “One of the best things about ICE is that there is always something new on display, not previously advertised. That’s part of the beauty of the event. Visitors to the show will experience a world of betting, bingo, casino, lottery, online betting, street gaming and social gaming – in the largest gambling space worldwide.”
“There is no other gambling event that enables this global vision”, said Chambers. “Together with the most renowned brands, 67 companies will make their debut at ICE, and I think that one of the best aspects of the Totally Gaming show is the Conference Program. The eight programs, that started yesterday with the International Casino Conference, comprise 40 hours of targeted training and networking, together with the 150 leading thinkers of the gaming industry.” In total, 49 conferences, seminars and special events will be held as part of the ICE Conference Program, with 200 speakers.
Tips for the smartphone
How to organize your time at what will be, from today and until Thursday, the primary gambling exhibition worldwide? This year ICE offers its visitors and exhibitors a new application for mobile devices specifically developed for this purpose. The app, 100% free and downloadable from its official site, enables visitors to have a complete schedule of the event and to seek out new releases and key products; it comes with an organizer keeping the user informed of pending meetings as well as sessions and conferences. As of writing the application had already been downloaded 13,500 times.
Clarion Events, the group in charge of the show, are confident that everything is in place for ICE to once again constitute the world’s foremost gambling event. As ever Yogonet will provide comprehensive day to day coverage of the show, with journalists inside ExCel, closely watching what this great event has to offer.
