Mariya Lepshchikova to speak about the conflict of interest after adopting a new law on bookmaking
How to manage bookmaking business under conditions of the latest legal restrictions? This issue has been discussed by all representatives of the betting industry. But at Russian Gaming Week, Mariya Lepshchikova, the lawyer at PL Company, will speak about the conflict of interest among bookmakers after the implementation of a new law.
The expert has worked in the sphere of legal support of bookmaking for 13 years. Over the years, she:
- represented gambling clubs, lottery operators, betting shops and bookmakers in courts of various jurisdictions (including the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation) and won cases;
- provided escort during checks performed by law enforcement in the process of administrative and criminal proceedings;
- filed appeals against public authorities;
- was involved in legal justification of new gambling projects.
At RGW Moscow 2017, Mariya will speak on “The law about special-purpose allocations for Russian sports as an indicator of the conflict of interest in the regulatory environment of the bookmaking business”. She will elaborate upon the following:
- overview of the law enforcement practice according to p.4 a.14.1.1. of the Code of the Russian Federation on Administrative Offenses: which advertising options are allowed;
- which legal requirements events receiving bets should comply with;
- why not all bookmakers are ready to pay newly implemented allocations and how it will affect the bookmaking market;
- enlargement of advertising opportunities for 60 mln a year: does everybody need these new opportunities and do they want to pay for them?
- which conclusions can be drawn concerning a new bill prohibiting non-sporting bets (the bill № 156808-7).
