Plans to make Primorye gambling zone a free trade area
21.06.2016

The governor of Primorye Vladimir Miklushevsky offers to create a free trade area in the local gambling zone.

Residents of the gambling zone came up with this idea when Russian Deputy Prime Minister Yury Trutnev visited Far East. Earlier this initiative was supported by the governor of Primorsky Territory Vladimir Miklushevskiy. He cited foreign experience, which shows that the bigger part of revenue in gambling regions comes from related services such as shopping, hotels and entertainment, rather than gambling. Free trade could boost the attractiveness of the gambling zone for tourists and investors.

Currently Russia does not have experience in creation of free trade areas. Vladimir Miklushevsky wants to promote the implementation of pilot project in Primorye.

For now only one casino operates in this integrated entertainment resort. Four more projects are under construction. In total there are plans to build 22 entertainment and hospitality facilities. It is expected that in ten years they will accept not less than 10 million people a year.
