Darina Denisova: banned VPN for betting is improvement

In Russia, a law banning VPN services and anonymizers has recently come into force. Its aim is preventing citizens from the banned websites, including offshore betting shops.

The President of the SRO of Bookmakers Darina Denisova voiced her opinion on it.

According to her, if the regulations are reasonable and manage the Russian betting industry in the future, such changes will be highly appreciated.

The ban of anonymizers within offshore operator platforms can be justified in case of a benefit for the Russian legal betting market.

The question to be solved at the legal level is the introduction of the passed law. VPN services owners are very likely to deny meeting new requirements, so the whole process is a very difficult task to be implemented.
