30-storied hotel to open in the gambling zone near Anapa in 2016
Azov-City gambling zone expanded by 800hectares of land annexed from the stanitsa Blagoveshenskayalocated 45 km from Anapa. The authorities held the tender for 20-year lease of 240hectares of land allocated for the implementation of the gambling investment project.The tender was won by Adaptas (Rus) LLC.
According to Gorobets, the company is planningto invest in total over 16 billion rubles into the construction of five hotelswith casinos and a golf park in the gambling zone. The first phase of theproject includes the construction of five-star hotels with casinos. Wewill begin the construction in about eight months, the CEO of Adaptas (Rus) said.
According to the project plan, the 30-storeyhotel with total area of 126,000 square meters will have 700 rooms and thecasino will occupy 17,000 square meters. According to preliminary plans, the gamblingfacility will be able to simultaneously host 2000 visitors and include around55 gaming tables and 1500 slot machines. The hotel will also house fourrestaurants, a panorama café and a nightclub.
Since 1 July 2009, the gambling business inRussia has been allowed only in four designated zones. One of them is Azov-Citylocated in Krasnodar Krai on the coast of the Azov Sea in Scherbinovskiy district(bordering on Rostov Oblast). Now Azov-City includes two legal operational casinosOrakul and Shambala. The owner of the latter ischallenging the results of the tender for lease of land won by Adaptas(Rus) LLC.
